Oxford University Press participated in the Peninsula School Feeding Association’s (PSFA) 57th annual Blisters for Bread Charity Family Fun Walk on Sunday, 31 August 2025, at the Green Point Sports Ground in Cape Town.

PSFA aims to raise awareness of childhood hunger and funds to provide nutritious meals to impoverished children at schools across the Western Cape.
A corporate sponsorship package of R35 000 plus VAT contributed to sustaining the vital work done by the Peninsula School Feeding Association, not only feeding children but also ensuring the continuity of the programme as a whole. As part of the sponsorship, OUP received 100 tickets for staff and families to join over 10 000 Capetonians for a scenic 5 or 10 km walk along the Sea Point Promenade.
Although the event is advertised as ‘R100 feeds 20 hungry children,’ the reality is that corporate packages contribute to supporting the entire Blisters for Bread programme. Importantly, we stood together in solidarity and commitment to ending childhood hunger. As an educational publisher we are aware that you cannot teach a hungry child.
The day was filled with energy, laughter, and purpose. It wasn’t just about getting our steps in; it was about stepping up to say no to childhood hunger!
