Learning and Development Hub

OUP is committed to continually evolve our learning and development offering as to increase our impact, reach and relevance as we strive towards our Mission, continuing to Grow, Simplify and Adapt to the changing world around us.
Our professional development offering is built on the 70:20:10 principle: Of all possible learning an employee undertakes, around 70% tends to be experiential, 20% social and 10% formal. L&D’s role is to support learning in all its forms and advise ways on how to best cultivate oneself through the learning options available.

Oxford University Press offers the following learning experiences:

Experiential learning occurs in the flow of work from day-to-day experiences, reflecting on the experience itself and what learning experience can be taken from it.
Social learning occurs through observation and social interaction. For example, coaching, mentoring, networking, and job shadowing. Formal learning should constitute around 10% of the learning we undertake, and this includes LinkedIn Learning content, workshops, webinars, and e-learning. Bursaries are offered to all internal staff in line with their career development. Internship opportunities (occurring annually) where individuals gain workplace experience as well as supplementary training. Learnership opportunities are also offered to all internal staff.
