Since its inception in 2008, our innovative shareholding partnership with the MRF has grown into a powerful collaboration that transcends borders and transforms lives. To date, Oxford University Press Southern Africa has funded almost 180 Mandela Rhodes scholars from 33 African countries, enabling them to pursue a postgraduate degree and providing an opportunity to continue Nelson Mandela’s legacy of impactful, values-driven leadership.
The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship offers a transformative leadership journey designed to shape and empower the next generation of African leaders. It provides both comprehensive financial support and an enriching leadership programme that challenges scholars, nurtures their growth, and connects them with like-minded young changemakers across the continent.
